Gatmans was formed in 1954 as N.T. Gatman Ltd, initially as a rural garage founded by the late Mr Neil Gatman. The company remains privately owned by Jim and Helen Wreaks.

With a predominant change in land use over the years, a recent name change to Gatmans Mowers&More better reflects the core business products on offer.

Jim Wreaks, Managing Director

Born and bred on a farm in Matakana, Jim is no stranger to farm machinery and garden equipment. He worked as a shearer between running the farm and competing in shearing competitions, then ventured into a wool buying business in Silverdale. He combined this with selling farm equipment for Gatmans Agricentre as he travelled the district buying wool, resulting in successful sales for the company which already had a well established name. Jim and Helen bought the company in 2006.
